Two 2nd Birthday Cakes

Today is Ben's second birthday. Yesterday we had a little party for him and a couple of friends. For his jungle themed party I made a zebra cake

For his actual birthday I made him a frog on a lily pond.

Spa time

A hot tub I made for my friend Fiona in 2006. The wooden surround was made from chocolate fingers the inside of the tub is made from fondant and the water is a fairly runny glace icing. The 'bubbles' are crumbled fondant that had been allowed to dry a little.

Nemo

Tom's 10th birthday cake - all fondant again.

Tiggertastic!

This is Harry's 6th birthday cake so from 2003. Can't remember what type of cake but it's probably a victoria sponge, the decoration is all fondant.

Harry's 10th birthday

Harry loves fish so decided he would like a fish themed cake. All the decoration is in fondant.

Wedding Anniversary

In 2004 my parents celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. We had a small family get together and I made them this cake. The bottom layer is a rich fruit cake and the top layer is a vanilla sponge as my sister doesn't like fruit cake. It's covered with fondant and decorated with paper roses and leaves with linked gold wedding rings and red and gold ribbon.

Life is like a box of chocolates

This is a cake I made for a friend's 40th birthday a few years ago. If I remember correctly it's a chocolate sponge covered in fondant, the chocolates in the top are handmade (by me) truffles and the white fondant is decorated with coloured sugar hearts.

Gingerbread Chav

While not exactly cakes I thought I would include a couple of things I made for pimpthatsnack.com First a 20" tall gingerbread man

Then a behemoth of a bourbon being nibbled on by Tom and Harry a few years ago now!

Tae Kwon Do black belt

Tom's friend Matt (also the son of a friend of mine) recently achieved his black belt in Tae Kwon Do so I made him a cake to celebrate - see what I mean about any excuse, LOL. The cake is a vanilla sponge, covered in white fondant with piped wording and liquorice belt and edgings

Harry's 11th birthday Chameleon

Harry loves chameleons so for his 11th birthday I decided to make him a cake with a chameleon on it. The log is a chocolate sponge covered in chocolate buttercream and the chameleon is made from fondant

A bit about me.

I'm Jane, 39, mum to three boys, Tom, Harry and Ben and wife to Colin.

I love to make cakes and take any excuse I can find to make a cake for someone.

I'm planning to look out pictures of all the cakes I've made over the last few years and add them. Once I've done that I'll add pictures of each cake as I make it.
